THE BAR AWARDS HAS COME TO BANGKOK!
22 February 2017, Bangkok – The Bar Awards, Asia’s most influential bar and beverage awarding body, is bringing an additional smile to the Land of Smiles with one of the most exciting F&B festivals this year! Starting with international guest bartenders shaking it up at the best cocktail bars in Bangkok and closes with The Bar Awards Party celebrations on 23 April 2017, where the very best of Bangkok’s establishments and personalities are honoured through 12 award categories.
Launched in Singapore in 2014, The Bar Awards has grown to become Asia’s most respected accolade that acknowledges the bar and beverage industry’s best. The 2016 Singapore and Hong Kong editions garnered strong support from the industry, drink professionals, the media and well-known brands such as Stolichnaya, Cointreau, Giffard and Campari. The Bar Awards 2017 campaign looks to gather the same support starting the four city schedule with the Bangkok edition, making stops in Singapore and Hong Kong before wrapping up in Kuala Lumpur.
Tron Young (one of the editors of The Bar Awards) comments, “We’re pretty excited to be starting in Bangkok. As a proud Thai, I’m over the moon to be able to bring The Bar Awards to the city I grew up in and love. Seeing my hometown become one of Asia’s best drinking cities is pretty awesome!”
The Bar Awards Bangkok 2017 will officially begin with a two-week long Public Nominations process, nominations will be open from 1 March to 14 March 2017. This is the most crucial aspect of The Bar Awards NAVS (nominations and voting system) as it allows for members of the public to give their favourite bars and bartenders a “thumbs up”.
As consumers are an integral part of any establishment’s success it is important for The Bar Awards to acknowledge their opinions and views. During the Public Nominations stage we also encourage bars and individuals to nominate themselves and/or their establishment. We believe that, “nobody knows what you do best except you!”
Public Nominations and the full list of categories would go live on 1 March 2017 from this link: http://www.thebarawards.com/nominate
Once the Public Nominations have closed, the NAVS continues with two rounds of voting by The Panel (The Panel consists of around 30 members of all aspects of the F&B industry, including bar professionals, owners, drink connoisseurs, journalists, and chefs). The first round of voting will decide the Top 10, a short list of contenders for each category (which will be announced on 29 March 2017) and the second round will then determine The Winners, the greatly anticipated results will be announced at The Bar Awards Party on 23 April 2017.
